Most of the Herd

I recently took a few pics of most of the motorcycles in my collection. There are a few project bikes that should be on the road in the spring.

Honda CX500 Fender

The original fender on my Honda CX500 was pitted and dented so I was looking for an alternative. One of my other motorcycles is a Yamaha XS360 with a front fender that was pretty faded so I found a replacement on ebay. The XS fender seemed like a good candidate for the CX so I cut the mounting tabs off and drilled it to fit on the stock Honda fender bracket. I really like using parts from different bikes and making something that looks like it came that from the factory.

Official Vintage Rice Burners T-Shirts

I am down to the last Vintage Rice Burners T-Shirt in stock. If there is enough interest I will put in an order for more T-Shirts. I have to have a minimum order of 25 shirts to get a good price. The price would probably be around $15 each including shipping.

Let me know how many and what size you would want and if enough people want a shirt I'll make an order.

Honda CX500 Update

I've been doing some polishing and painting of parts for my latest motorcycle. So far I've polished the clutch cover and oil filter cover and painted the recessed areas black. I filed the words off of the fuse cover and polished it. I also polished the top handlebar clamp.

I plan to polish the valve covers. I've been working on getting a good shine on them but I'm not done yet. I also have drilled the brake drum housing and I'm trying to get a good finish on that.

Stockbridge All Clubs Day 2012

The Vintage Rice Burners had a great group of 12 motorcycles ride to the 2012 Stockbridge All Clubs Day. The weather was perfect and there was a huge turn out at Stockbridge.

We met at The Gathering Place in Cascade for breakfast and headed out in the morning. It was about a 90 mile ride to the show down some pretty nice backroads. The ride wasn't without a few problems though.

About six miles short of Stockbridge the clutch cable on my Yamaha XS650 broke. I didn't happen to carry a spare cable but we weren't done yet. Tory had a spare Honda Goldwing throttle cable that was made to fit after about an hour of filing and a little swearing. There was no free play in the lever but at least I was able to get to the show and get home.

On the way home another motorcycle in our group had a flat tire. A tire plug and an air compressor on Tory's Goldwing and we made it home.
